4 Stars Great item at a great price
I bought this for my boyfriend who is a very avid weightlifter. His review on the bar is it works great, it weighs lighter than a gyms solid metal bar but he gets the same effect without the price. The bars that hold the weights are solid metal and not a sleeve that slides over the smaller bars. He also prefers the clamp for holding the weights on the bar. I like the bar because of how it has increased his muscle. He looks GOOD!
5 Stars Weider Olympic-Sized Chrome Tricep Bar Review
I think this bar is a great addition to my home gym, I’ve been using it for close grip bench presses and hammer curls, and soon from now I might use it for behind the head tricep extensions. The only con that I’ve come across is that when I do CGBP with it, my arms tend to rub against the plates. This might be avoided by putting on smaller plates first and then the larger ones. =)
Roots The Next Generations

Roots rocked the cultural landscape in the late ’70s, creating a new wave of awareness of black history. That wave opened the door for its sequel, Roots: The Next Generations, even more of a star-studded event than the original, with stars like Olivia de Havilland, Henry Fonda, Marlon Brando, and James Earl Jones eager to partake in the tale. The sequel follows the rest of the saga of the family of author Alex Haley, from where Roots ended at the Civil War, up to the 1970s when Haley was researching and writing his earth-shattering family story.
While nothing can rival the power of the original Roots‘ unflinching look at the slave trade and slave life in the early years of this country, the sequel is still full of rich African American history, from Reconstruction, to Jim Crow, to the civil rights movement and the early rumblings of black power. Fonda and de Havilland are respectable in their period-piece roles, but the real power of this sequel is in the more immediate concerns of Haley and his own experience of prejudice while building a stellar reputation as a writer and journalist in the ’60s and ’70s. One of the most unsettling scenes takes place then, when Haley interviews the head of the American Nazi Party, played with chilling diffidence by Brando. (Brando won an Emmy for this performance.) Haley is also challenged by his fractious interview with Malcolm X (a gripping Al Freeman Jr.). Jones launches his acting career playing Haley with nuance and heart, but with a humanizing set of his own demons.
The four-disc set includes all seven episodes plus a compelling documentary, Roots: The Next Generations–The Legacy Continues, with interviews with Jones, costar and episode director Georg Stanford Brown and a still starry-eyed David L. Wolper, who understands the cultural impact of the two miniseries he helped bring to the screen. –A.T. Hurley

5 Stars Roots
Used this series in classroom with junior high students. Drew up my own guide and questions for reflection and discussion. Excellent-most excellent-even better than that! I should now buy it on DVD but I have retired and will just have to watch on video in my retirement.
5 Stars finally on dvd
And about time. Alex Haley’s “factional” story is as powerful today as when first released. With the current political goings on in this country, Roots and Roots TNG should be required viewing for every single American.
5 Stars Roots - The Next Generation
I’ve looked for over a year trying to find this collection. I was shocked and amazed at the clarity and quality of this video collection. It looks like the movie was just made. I highly recommend this video to everyone.

BOB Sport Utility Stroller Duallie

The 2008 BOB Duallie applies the same engineering principles we use for our singles to a stroller designed for two children. The Duallie makes it easy to take young siblings (or playmates) just about anywhere-with plenty of cargo room for food, drink, clothing, books, and toys. The Duallie is easier to maneuver than “front-and-back” two-seaters (and our design reduces hair-pulling and pestering as well!).

We love our double jogger! The kids are so comfortable and it pushes really nicely. My husband was joking that it is like a mini SUV. We live on a horse farm and I push up and down our bumpy dirt road and to the park with ease. The tires are really big and sturdy. I am glad we didn’t go with the swivel because I think the bumpy road would have made the jogger turn to the side. I also love the parking brake because I can put it on in the barn if they fall asleep and I can ride my horse. I am looking forward to having it on the beach this summer. I know it will push through the sand easily. The canopy’s cover all the way over my daughter’s feet. This is the only stroller that keeps the sun out of her eyes. It has been a life saver with a 6 month old and 3 year old. A must have!
4 Stars Dad’s Perspective On Five Years With This Tough, Cool Stroller
We bought this model over five years ago; the picture looks like they may have updated it a bit since that time.
We have loved our massive stroller. It is in excellent condition still despite nearly daily use. After five years of tipping over, being thrown into our car trunk, and slamming into countless door jams, it looks nearly new and is just barely starting to lose some of the foam grip. The tires were a little subpar for the price, but that’s the easiest thing to fix. The parking brake never worked at all–even after having a bike expert mess with it, we could never get it to lock in place even unloaded on a flat surface. The safety strap is very well made, and I recommend playing yo-yo with it when you walk up hills. Your kids will love it.
Kids are well protected from sun and light rain/snow with the canopy up, but it’s not much help in pouring rain. We haven’t tried the optional cover, so our kids are manly and wet. The harness is adjustable at several points and fit all our kids as soon as they were fit for public exposure and we can still comfortably secure our strapping kindergartener.
It is huge, but it fits in the tiny trunk of our Saturn sedan, so I’m sure it would fit in just about any car so long as you remove the wheels (takes 2 seconds once you are used to it).
The list of places this won’t go is long. I have lifted it over many gates at zoos and parks (usually with passengers), but it is quite heavy and I think it may be too much for a lot of moms. It does not fit in most public doorways, so it’s not ideal for running errands, and also you would destroy everything in your path if you tried to take it into a store (though the storage compartment under the seats is spacious and fairly accessible). I haven’t done too much trail running so I can’t comment on the fixed wheel being a hindrance; it’s not an issue for us, though you do have to take the occasional 3-part u-turn.
In conclusion, for running, trips to the park, or anywhere a really large stroller would be welcome, it is ideal, indestructible, and worth every cent. If I need to, I will buy a single at some point. I can’t imagine having to replace this one, though.
4 Stars Fixed wheel…an issue for me.
BOB makes an excellent product. The quality of the stroller was excellent. My only problem was the fixed wheel. The trails around my house are not straight therefore the stroller was difficult to turn. I got the BOB Revolution Dualie instead and I love it!!! The extra cost was worth it for me. It is the best stroller I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot!
5 Stars Great Stroller
This is such a great stroller. I had an InStep before this for about 18 months and it broke apart one thing at a time. So, I decided to get a higher quality one and am so glad I did. It is so easy to put together and use. I have a Subaru Forester and it fits in my trunk great. It is easy to adjust the front wheel when it veers; the basket is big and spacious; the seats are very comfortable for the kids. My kids actually wanted to be buckled in the seats and preferred riding when they usually like to walk. It rains a lot and snows a lot where we live and the canopy is sufficient without the rain cover to keep the weather out.
5 Stars Great
Order was processed quickly. Correct product was sent, but we decided on another product. Return & exchange was effortless.
The Getaway Deluxe Edition

It’s better than the 1994 remake starring Kim Basinger and husband Alec Baldwin, but this 1972 thriller relies too heavily on the low-key star power of Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw, and the stylish violence of director Sam Peckinpah, reduced here to a mechanical echo of his former glory. McQueen plays a bank robber whose wife (MacGraw) makes a deal with a Texas politician to have her husband released from prison in return for a percentage from their next big heist. But when the plan goes sour, the couple must flee to Mexico as fast as they can, with a variety of gun-wielding thugs on their trail. MacGraw was duly skewered at the time for her dubious acting ability, but the film still has a raw, unglamorous quality that lends a timeless spin to the familiar crooks-on-the-lam scenario. As always, Peckinpah rises to the occasion with some audacious scenes of action and suspense, including a memorable chase on a train that still grabs the viewer’s attention. Not a great film, but a must for McQueen and Peckinpah fans. –Jeff Shannon

4 Stars A bad script saved by sex, violence and character actors!
The title of this review sums it up! The script was probably written on toilet paper or cocktail knapkins. The plot goes something like this; bad dude armed robber emerges from the slammer to pick up the loot and get out of Dodge City. Other bad guys try to stop him. Ex Con finds out his old lady was banging the opposition while he was in slammer. Paybacks are a [...]! The producer had to save this movie by filming some steamy scenes with McGraw & McQueen (plus others) and then getting allot of action scenes to wake everyone up for the steamy stuff! Some of the bad guys are just too animated to be taken seriously - you want to hear them say their lines in Japanese so you don’t have a clue but it is funny! (Unless you actually speak Japanese - then you wish for Russian)
4 Stars Bad Guy Wins
Peckinpah generally says it all. Plenty of violence and chases with McQueen giving it his dour, minimalist acting. There really aren’t any good guys in this, so the least bad of the baddies ends up the winner. The plot is nothing new - bad guy gets out of prison and is forced into one more big job. Ali MacGraw is just so-so as the wife who would do anything to get her man out of the slammer, but she and McQueen make a good pairing for this action flick. A must-see for McQueen fans.

5 Stars The Getaway (1972)
As per Cookieman’s in-depth review/analysis above I would add some anecdotes about this film I’ve come across in various writings. The scene of McQueen punching an hysterical Sally Struthers played so believably because apparently McQueen misjudged his punch and actually knocked out Struthers. Of course, Peckinpah continued shooting. Cookieman talks about the quiet moments before the storms as being poignant; one in particular I would characterize as brilliant: McCoy, fresh from prison, is experiencing sexual dysfunction even though he’s partnered with the alluring Carol (Ali MacGraw). He tries to explain to her that being in prison “does something to you,” but he is really trying to explain it to himself. He is at once angry and embarrassed, and McQueen plays it with his typically understated intensity. The scene cuts to the next morning with a close up on a pan of scrambled eggs sizzling on the burner as McCoy whistles and prepares breakfast. Brilliant. Peckinpah spares us the requisite love scene and allows us to fill it in in our imaginations, which imprint our psyches indelibly and at the same time creates a human connection between McCoy and the audience.
3 Stars OK Peckinpah/Mc Queen…not great, not bad, but Struthers’ role is offensive
As an action flick, ‘The Getaway’ is just OK. Some good shoot-’em-up sequences, some good car chase parts, and that innovative scene where McQueen and McGraw hide out in a trash compactor. The part where McQueen slaps around McGraw after learning that she slept with the prison warden to get him out early supposedly really happened during filming, and you could tell McGraw’s crying and shock is real because McQueen totally improvised the slapping. The sexual tension and love/hate feelings between the two is very apparent throughout the film.
But one thing fails to be mentioned in the other reviews I’ve read here. I’m not trying to be politically correct by any means, but doesn’t anyone find Sally Struthers’ role in this movie totally offensive ? I mean, here she is, married to a veterinarian, with both of them being forced to take in an on-the-lam hit man who is after McQueen and the bank money (Al Lettieri). And what does she do ? She washes him up, performs oral sex on him, jokes around with him while her husband is being forced to drive, has sex with him in bed in a hotel room while her husband is tied to a chair and forced to watch, and finally causes her husband to hang himself in the hotel room because of all of this. Has anyone noticed that director Peckinpah, in almost all of his films, portrays most women as evil sluts ? I mean, jeez…I’ve had some bad relationships but Peckinpah, he must have gotten totally burned more than once.
In any case, the film itself has a pretty standard ‘bank-robbery-with-husband-and-wife-on-the-lam-and-being-pursued’ plot. What keeps it interesting is Peckinpah’s slow-motion violence sequences (although pretty tame here), great editing, and McQueen’s always solid as a rock acting. Good supporting work here too from Slim Pickens and Ben Johnson. But the plot is somewhat predictable, McGraw is still stale as an actress, and Struthers…well, I’ve already explained that. ‘The Getaway’ is simply just an OK film. Not Peckinpah’s worst by any means, but certainly nothing great or noteworthy.
